# Prevent e-mail notification for private messages

Currently, I don’t see a possibility to disable sending email notifications for private messages. Am I right?
It would be nice:
- to have a global setting to disable email notifications for private messages OR
- to have a setting in the “send private message form”, to disable e-mail notifications for this message.
What do you think about that?

You can change `default email messages level` but users can change it. To disable completely would take a plugin.
