# Privacy Settings for Posts by Users (Settings)

Can Forum threads can be made private by βnormalβ users except admins & moderators and if so, where can I change that or do I need to increase the rank of the users that I want to enable for that option?

Hello there!
If a user posts a topic they cannot make it private. They would have to ask a staff member to turn it into a PM. You would have to make the user moderator to gain this privalige. Or they can start a new message instead of a topic. Hope this helps π
