Private messages with multiple users obstructs title bar

(Robert Lee) #1

As you can see the title bar gets pushed down and obstructed, apologies if this has already been reported.

Visual bug on PM
(Brentley Jones) #2

Already reported, but I can’t find it. I thought @sam had fixed it before?

(Robert Lee) #3

Ah sorry  I tried searching, but I obviously failed at that!

Feel free to close/delete this then.

(Brentley Jones) #4

Don’t get me wrong, until someone else can find it, this is a valid bug. I also can’t find it via searching.

(Robert Lee) #5

Good to know I’m not being stupid!

(Theron Boerner) #6

We need this fixed! Still persists even today.

(Sam Saffron) #7

I agree this needs to be fixed, but this is a nightmare to fix. especially when you need to account of the dynamic sizing of the composer area.

html mocks / css mocks of how to fix this more than welcome

(Theron Boerner) #8

Set max-width on .ac-wrap.clearfix instead of width?

Doesn’t solve the problem but it’s a temp fix.

(Sam Saffron) #9

How does it look on a narrow browser / wide browser?
What happens on mobile?
Preview on / off?
What happens when you have 10 users?

(lid) #10

Probably not easy to implement but just throwing a possible direction.

(Sam Saffron) #11

Some widget like this would solve the issue quite nicely. Any chance you can get your dev environment going ?

(lid) #12

I probably would have long time ago, if virtualbox didn’t have so many networking bugs.

but I am working on it and around it

(Kevin P. Fleming) #13

I just ran into this yesterday; it was definitely non-obvious what was happening and how to recover from it.

(Sam Saffron) #14

We need a new widget here, the mockup by @Lid is a reasonable approach cc @awesomerobot

(Marcus Baw) #15

This bug still alive and well unfortunately:

adding more users to the message…

adding even more users to the message…

Marcus

(TechnoBear) #16

Just two users with long usernames is enough to cause an issue:

(Sam Saffron) #17

@eviltrout if your list empties up it would be mighty nice to have a widget like @lid proposed, it’s probably one of our oldest UI quirks

(Joshua Rosenfeld) #18

This is still alive and well today…

…any updates on a fix?

(Jeff Atwood) #19

Easier to just get group mentions working.

(Joshua Rosenfeld) #20

What is a group mention? I see it listed as a 1.5 feature, but no linked feature post…
