Problem when logging out of discourse and more

(@SenpaiMass) #1

Hello i am having problems logging out of discourse and also i am not able to delete a topic .
Site is http://greedgamer.com.
I am also not able to delete any of my topics :frowning: .
I have installed discourse using the official method on Digital ocean itself.

When i hit log out nothing happens, same goes for delete topic

Are you attempting to use any plugins or anything outside the standard install?

If the answer is no, I suggest you take a backup and reinstall again from scratch.

(@SenpaiMass) #3

yea i did try the discourse adsense but uninstalled it. I think i need to re install

(@SenpaiMass) #4

@codinghorror Did a fresh install with backup still same issue :frowning:

(@SenpaiMass) #5

So i have done a reinstall yet again and the same issue as of now , not able to log out nor delete any topics.

Using a complete fresh install on digital ocean 2gb server, Installation method is official
Edit:
a lot of functionality such as deleting forums also does not work.

I am using a complete fresh install. cleared my cache ctrl+shift+r removed my cookies and when i log back in same stuff cant logout. :frowning:

Is any information printed to the /logs when you try to log out? You should be able to access it while logged in as an admin user by appending /logs to your base url.

My Complete logs

(Ben T) #8

Okay, is any information printed to your javascript console when you try to log out? Here’s some information on inspecting it in various browsers:

Another check; can you register a new user and post topics? Do you have another computer to connect from to do this?

(@SenpaiMass) #11

@trident @codinghorror
Yea i just did that

Edit :
Is this a discourse bug ??

2nd Edit :
Uploaded my backup :frowning: and still the functionality not working

(lid) #12

Can you try clearing your cookies.restart your browser. And sign in again.

(@SenpaiMass) #13

i have already done that and infact did this now , same issue.

(@SenpaiMass) #15

Completely Clueless and helpless any one can put me out of my misery and tell me what is wrong with the discourse installation that i have done.?
Edit : I have followed a clean official installation on digital ocean 2gb server.
Still this problem persists.

Are you using SSL? Is your HTTP traffic being forced through a transparent proxy server (on your client side, not on the Discourse server side)? Are you using a caching proxy?

Something is blocking all the DELETE requests and, if you followed the instructions, that’s most likely not Discourse’s doing.

(@SenpaiMass) #17

I have followed the discourse instructions around 20 times, i have installed it around 20 times with the same instructions.
I am not using SSL, my HTTP traffic is not being forced through a transparent proxy server

(Jens Maier) #18

I still find it highly suspicious that your browser’s javascript console shows 403 Access Denied for each and every DELETE request.

Can you check that the /var/docker/shared/log/rails/unicorn.stderr.log file actually reflects these failed requests? Look for lines like this:

192.168.xx.yy - - [19/Jul/2014 01:35:18] “DELETE /session/Username HTTP/1.1” 200 - 0.0231

(@SenpaiMass) #19

So confused atm here is my unicorn.stderr.log file

Uuuh, did you rebuild the container and then post the log file without trying to log out or delete a post or topic?

(@SenpaiMass) #21

No i did not rebuild the container. i checked the log file after i tried to delete a post or topic or even logout.
I can provide server / admin details if needed.
