# Public Category looks to be private

I’m an admin of our site and one of our categories that was public is now directing to a 404.

The category “General” still shows up on the main page, but anytime we click on it, it brings anyone to a 404.

What happened is that you renamed “Uncategorized” to “General” and then went to site settings and disabled “Uncategorized”.

I went ahead and enabled uncategorized.

Long term I just want to nuke the ability to disable uncategorized via site settings (and the mountains of internal conditional code). It is just causing way too much pain.

Okay, great! I wonder if one of of the other admins disabled uncategorized as it was working before. 🙂 Thanks for your quick response and help!
