Q about: Admin (wrench) menu -- "Make unlisted"

AI-generated summary

Clasina_Field asked about the “Make unlisted” option from the admin menu, specifically what it does, who can see unlisted posts, and how to prevent a post from appearing in the “Latest” feed. ondrej replied that making a post unlisted removes it from the list and makes it accessible only via direct link. Unlisted posts can be viewed by staff via the URL /?status=unlisted. To prevent a post from appearing in the “Latest” feed, the “toggle unlisted” option can be used, which is accessible to staff (admins and mods) only, as confirmed by ondrej in response to Heather_Phillips.

When I use the “make unlisted” option from the admin menu for a post, what exactly does that do, and who can see what I’ve just made unlisted, and how?

Other question:
How do I make a post in one of our categories so that it doesn’t appear in the “Latest” feed. Or is that possible?

Hello @Clasina_Field

It removes topic from the list and can only be accessed via direct link.

As with everyother staff action everyone unless you delete it. you can view (only staff) all your unlisted topics like this (add at the end of URL) /?status=unlisted

I assume that you mean topic. You can use the toggle unlisted option which you can access here:

Is this feature “toggle unlisted” only available to staff or admins? Is it enabled when a certain trust level is achieved?
