# Quickly tell someone why they should look at a topic

Instead of trying to put up reasons why we shouldn’t want what we clearly want, it would be easier if you just said you didn’t want to add this, or that was too hard|complex|unimportant to handle at this time.

I guess I think the usage is suboptimal. A random invite to a random URL is never going to be as effective as an invitation to a specific welcome topic where people can introduce themselves, and understand why they were invited. This kind of topic is a fixture in the forum space.

And if you want to write a personal email to a person inviting them to the site, or a form email (with a generated invite key), there are plenty of ways to achieve that.

I haven’t heard this particular bit of feedback from many (any?) other sources. I don’t tend to weight that kind of feedback heavily. It never hurts to wait and see, as there are a lot of Invite improvements in this release cycle anyway.
