# Quoting does not preserve hyperlink

Highlight and quote a post that has a hyperlink.

[For example I will reply to this](http://google.com)

Would be nice to preserve the quote, so if someone replies to a post that isn’t currently on screen, context of the original hyperlink is preserved.

And as you can see, above “For Example I will reply to this” is no longer a hyperlink.

AFAIK this behavior is by design.

You can expand the quote in order to get a clickable hyperlink.

The link is still there.

But how will anyone reading my post know there is a clickable link, without clicking on another icon and looking at hidden text? Not all text implies a hyperlink.

This has already been reported and it’s on our radar. But it’s so hard that we haven’t gotten to it yet 😉
