# "read" and "copy link" in post\_menu\_hidden\_items

Continuing the discussion from [Post Share now Link Copy Only?](https://meta.discourse.org/t/post-share-now-link-copy-only/291038/5):

While I had a look at the post\_menu setting, I noticed that not all items in that list are a choice in the post\_menu\_hidden\_items. Is there a reason why “read” and “copy link” are not allowed to be hidden? Since you can, for example, hide “share”, I had the impression someone just forgot to add them.

Is this confirmed as a bug or something forgotten? I would love to be able to hide “copyLink”. Would be nice if you could hide whatever you wanted from the “Post menu”.

Perhaps taking it away from that menu setting?

One warning. Your PWA-users may dislike that, because thatnis practically only way to get the link of a post or topic.

Thanks. That’s what I ended up doing. Months later (today), I needed to copy a link to a specific post and couldn’t so I ended up finding this bug topic and I see that I’ve already posted here 🙃

In the interest of keeping the interface less overwhelming, I am going to keep it hidden since none of my Forum users ever ask about it.

I would note though the link to the overall topic is still available at the bottom even if you remove “copyLink” from the “Post Menu” setting.
