# Realtime notifications about users typing a reply?

Hi there, I’m almost positive that I remember Discourse somewhere around 2016 having realtime notifications toward the bottom of the thread about users that were currently typing a reply in a given topic. Has this been removed?

They still do. I saw it as recently as today. It may be delayed by some time thought I do not know or have any evidence to prove it.

Hmm OK, is it listed anywhere in the settings? I searched for `typ` in the settings and I can’t see anything relevant. I’ve been in some pretty active threads and have seen no typing notifications, but maybe it was just a matter of luck and bad timing.
