Rebooted server, mail queue messages ballooned


Greetings all, we recently performed some server maintenance that required the server to be rebooted. Upon restart, our dev noticed the mail queue had ballooned to almost 50k messages. We have several thousand active members.

Could this be a reset of the weekly digest email process?

If you were down a while that could just be how many messages need to get sent out.

This would have been a good opportunity to update to a supported release. You should do an upgrade in any case.


It was for about an hour during the slowest part of the week. I guess we can compare the number of messages going out at the next 1 week interval, which will be Friday. I’ll report back then.
