Is there a possibility this SIGKILL came from an out of memory condition - the OOM killer at work? (dmesg might be able to answer)

Sounds right. I"ll add more swap. EDIT: Sigh. I was moving to a new server and failed to run discourse-setup, so there was no swap. I’ll close this in a few more minutes when the build completes.
