Rebuilding gets the latest Discourse version?

(Rahul Ramesh) #1

My discourse instamce automatically updated to version 1.1.0.beta6b. :expressionless: why it happened? Is it possible to deactivate this auto update. I can only see a setting called “ping dicourse hub for version check” in the admin panel. I thought it was just for pinging and letting me know about new version. I recently rebuild the discourse app to change the domain name, did the update happen then? --am confused–

Nothing automatically updates

You need to explicitly click the update button (unless we host you, then you can forget about all this stuff)

There is no auto update, no idea what you are referring to.

Ok till yesterday it was the previous beta version. And I could see a message called “update needed”. Today, some hours back, I rebuild the discourse for domain changing and after I logged in its showing the latest 6b beta version with the message “your are up to date” :open_mouth:

If you “rebuild the Discourse” you get a new version. Unless you pin it to a particular version.
