# Redirect a category to an external URL

We have a `Feature Request` category (/c/feature-request) and we’re transitioning to using a feedback request system off of our main corp web page. I tried setting up a permalink redirect but it doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?

Permalink won’t work on any internal links of discourse.
It is more likely meant to handle the unhandled urls and point them to an internal link.
You can close topics, change category permissions to stop new topics in that category and add a pinned post linking to your external link if you want a simple solution.
