# Redirection not working for WordPress link structure

Hi,

I moved my WordPress site to Discourse.

The link structure I had on WP was something like this: [https://example.com/2014/09/hello-and-goodbye/](https://example.com/2014/09/hello-and-goodbye/)

I created a redirection for the above link to Topic ID 15 but it shows a 404 page not found error.

I created a dummy redirection link for `/example-link` to Topic ID 15 and it works fine.

Then why not the above given WordPress link?

Please help 🙂

Hey @riteshsaini ! I have a little bit of experience working with redirects and may be able to help. Can I confirm, what was the original URL, what is the URL you’re trying to redirect it to and are you using the WordPress URL redirect plugin or the ‘Tools \> Redirection’ steps?
