# Reduce the number of clicks when upgrading

Upgrading currently takes two clicks.

**First click:**

### My suggestion

I would suggest that when coming from `/admin/upgrade`, the page with the first click, no second click is required.

Only when entering the direct URL of the second click page `/admin/upgrade#/upgrade/discourse`, into the browsers address bar, the second (then first) click is be required.

I don’t mind that it’s two clicks, because it acts as a “are you really sure” control. Also, users don’t do this operation very often – I can’t imagine that extra click is going to make a huge difference in anyone’s life.

On my (low-usage) forum, I’m doing this at least once a day.

(Probably this is not the most usual use-case)
