# 关于在没有 root 权限的情况下安装 discourse

Can discourse be installed on a new set up using the docker method. Without root. I have sudo to my new server.

sudo _is_ root; you use the sudo program to execute programs (or get a shell) with root privileges.

Using Docker requires root privileges (or special privileges to use Docker, which effectively give you root access).

What do you mean by “without root”, but “I have sudo”? Do you mean that the root account is disabled, but you can use it using sudo?

The root account is disabled, the hosting has provided me a server with no root access.

Never mind just found a way.

Sudo su!
