# Registrations by Invite Only?

Hi. I don’t want registrations to be possible from the main login page. I disabled new registrations, thinking that invites would still work. But they appear to be disabled also – the links get a “registration not permitted” error page. How can I permit invite-only registrations? Thanks.

Don’t disable `allow new registrations`. Doing so prevents all new registrations. Instead, enable `invite only` - which allows new registration by invite only.

Well, I had it half right. Invite-only checked, but also no registrations. Thanks!

This is also something you can easily change by re-running the setup wizard again at `/wizard` – it asks if you want a public or private site in one of the first steps.
