Oh I thought the ‘suggested topics’ had been renamed to ‘related topics’ I never thought of scrolling down further. This is indeed helpful 😄

When I first added it here on Meta, and for a few weeks, it was completely replacing the existing Suggested Topics for anons, but it was improved and now it has it’s own section and works with logged in users too.
There is at least one other easter egg from the same batch as this too 👀

I merged suggested and related topics using CSS to simplify and it looks more useful.
AI can really improve Discourse search too. It’s really cool you are digging into the real use cases here.

Yes, current design is more of a Proof of Concept of using AI for semantic similarity, our designers are still working on integrating that more nicely with Discourse design language.

Yes, but the asymmetric nature of search, when compared to the symmetric nature of related topics, proved to be a bit more complicated to get consistent results. We still working on it.

At the moment we are collecting interest of Enterprise customers to be the first to use the new Discourse AI features, which includes Related Topics. We plan on rolling it out, but there are several moving parts that we need to work on before committing to that.

I suddenly found out today that the team at Discourse changed the UI of Suggested/Related. The tabbed UI is really intuitive, morden, clean and I really like the design!
