# Removing members from a group chat

I tried to search but couldn’t seem to find anything relevant.
Is there any way to remove someone from a [group chat](https://meta.discourse.org/t/improvements-to-group-chats-add-users-to-existing-chats-easily-create-new-groups-name-your-group-chats/285076)? I assume this is not yet a feature or that I’m being very inattentive?

Just a note, if you can convince them to do so, they can remove themselves.

At the moment that would work. I was just curious where the remove user button was earlier.
I’m just thinking of other sites. For example, where asking a problematic user to leave a group chat they have been accidentally added to, is as likely as a vampire eating garlic bread.

Yeah I completely get that, it was just my first thought when I saw the topic.
Tangentially there, that problem user could also go and remove everyone else from the group chat once this feature is added, so there definitely needs to be some restriction here.
