# Removing the ability for moderators to suspend

Just change the moderators to [trust level 4](https://meta.discourse.org/t/what-do-user-trust-levels-do/4924/7) instead of being in the staff. As far as I know, they have the same abilities when it comes to directing the discussion (split topics, close, etc.), but no moderator (i.e. suspend, block) privileges.
