# Rename personal chats

Is it possible or would it be to change the name of a personal chat channel?

For example, if I have a channel with 2 other friends and I want to name it “the three musketeers”

It’s not currently possible, but I think it’s an idea worth considering for the future.

Hey @mcwumbly - Now that you can start a new group chats with a name is this any closer to happening? It would be great to be able to add a name to an existing chat with a few people.

On related note: is there currently any way to rename a chat channel? As far as I can tell once its created there’s no way to change it.

Admins can edit channel names.

1. Click channel name at top of channel to get to “Settings” for chanenl
2. Click “Edit” next to title to edit the name

You can do the same thing to edit the name of a group chat:

Thank you very much. That did it
