Replace Name with X People in Notifications for Multiple Likes

(Joseph Coates) #1

It looks like there is a bug that just displays:

 [username] [topic-title]

Rather than:

 X people [topic-title]

in cases where likes on a post are greater than one.

Opposed to the current way which when it is greater than 2, it shows the last 2 names followed by and X other people?

(Joseph Coates) #3

No… that’s kinda what I was thinking… Where are you seeing this? The dropdown under my profile pic (upper right corner) as well as my Profile>Notifications just show the last user’s name to like.

If you just have one like, that is indeed what you would see, but if your post has multiple likes, it does the above notification (from my screenshot).

Not for me…

On both Chrome and Firefox I’m just getting one name. Check out Gender and translations The two notifications are for different posts in the same topic. Both have multiple likes.

(cpradio) #6

Those are two different posts in the same topic.

(Joseph Coates) #7

Thats what I said… but both have multiple likes… so shouldn’t multiple people be mentioned?

(Joshua Rosenfeld) #8

That depends on user preferences. What is the of Notify when liked?

(cpradio) #9

For the record, mine is set to

(Jeff Atwood) #10

That’s not the default, though; the default is

Notify when liked – first time a post is liked and daily

Mine was set at the default… Thanks for the info.
