This summarizes the wiki behavior that I think we’re looking for. Anyone can make changes, but a selected group of knowledge leaders or SME’s or other trusted advisors, could be granted access to approve or disapprove.
We’ve been considering an alternative flow or workaround and would love to hear if anyone has additional ideas or a better approach to what we’re considering…
Create a standard topic and encourage viewers to use the comments/replies to propose new content or updates/mods to existing content in a topic. Users can reply to any proposed updates and discuss them in the comments, and selected/approved moderators can manually make the requested update if approved and make a note of the approval in the comment replies. Orrrr… maybe they delete the comments about the suggested change, once it has been made.
Another thought…how difficult would it be to create a plugin that you could hover over any content that has been created or modified on a wiki page, and see the persons name while simultaneously, while hovering, subtlety highlighting the update from that user?
Just trying to consider how we’re going to move forward with this.
