This is disappointing. I noticed this as well. I don’t like these kinds of changes at all, especially when it’s been a long-standing feature that just gets pulled unexpectedly.
This only encourages double posting. Previously it worked to explain to users that they don’t need to reply to their own thread because editing will bump it. Now that advice doesn’t hold up anymore. Replying to yourself instead (double posting) works.
Today I was helping someone, and about 7 hours ago I proposed a solution, then just now I thought of another possible approach and wanted the topic bumped so that everyone in the thread could consider it to.
That’s what led me here.
