Hey all!

I’ve just made a small update to this plugin so that you can utilize the component with subcategories, not just top-level categories If you are using the upcoming-events-list component via the Calendar plugin, be sure to add the desired subcategory to the Calendar settings under events calendar categories.

This looks like a great replacement for discourse layouts. I managed to get the “category-topics” to work, but i fail to get “upcoming-events-list” to work at all. I want it shown on the default view/discovery on the side as “upcoming..” but I cannot get it to render anything. All the upcoming events are in their own category (events). I think i misunderstood something

Edit: Ok, so it shows up if i go into that category. But the reason why i want it in the side bar is because i want it to be visible on the front page, not having to go into the category.. Any pointers?

If you leave the routes setting blank, I believe it will show up on all pages except the category list.

Yes, updating that field to be empty should do what you want, assuming I’m understanding correctly

Having a similiar issue here. Id like to display the upcoming events list globally. The Events Calender Plugin does only allow us to select categories. So, we could add ALL categories in the settings here. But then the Sidebar Block will still not show the upcoming events from */categories …

In my case, Id like to show on any place of the forum, the global calender which we fascilitate at */calendar.

You can also use other Ember components as blocks, you just need to use the correct name. For example, core includes a signup-cta Ember component, and you can use it in the sidebar as is. Note that you can’t use components that expect a set of parameters, but you can build your own Ember component in a separate theme and reference it just by its name in the sidebar’s blocks setting.

its blank yes. The central calendar is at the category with id=38. I’d like to display a list of upcoming events, listed in 38, in any other category too.
