Russian counting and male/female words

Thanks. What about Russian where there are 3 versions:

1,21,31,… монета (the suffix is a)
2,3,4, 22,23,24, … менеты (the suffix is ы)
5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20, 25,26,27,28,29,30, 35,36,37,38,39,40, … монет (no suffix)

Which key should I look for in translation file based on what's output in GUI?

Uh… first, Russian is weird. :stuck_out_tongue:
Second, that would require code changes and can’t be done in the YAML files alone. Rails pluralizers for JavaScript, maybe?

Well, this is not the weirdest thing yet.
Every word in Russian is either male or female, and this affects suffixes in tenses ))
And then there are no rules about how to identify which is male and which is female. You just have to know it.

Aren’t there neuter words in Russian, too? Struggling to remember from a class. Okno, etc.

Yes, window (okno, окно) is neither male nor female.
But it is conjugated in the same. way regarding plural groups, i.e. there are 3 groups.
