# Safe to upgrade via /admin?

Is it safe to do version updates via the admin panel of the site? Previously there was an option which you could click to update all which caused our site to crash. I have noticed that now the docker manager is the only update than can be done initially. At then I take it the others will follow suit. Or is the only effective way to do an update to the latest version through your server console with the update commands? Sometimes I have found this to cause server issues as well. Any advice would be helpful.

Docker manager updates will block others, this has been the case for a pretty long time now.
You can upgrade docker manager via the web UI, then do an upgrade all on everything else.
