# Search shows topics from muted category

I was searching explanation why settings of a theme has color palette, when none of themes are following that, and I got a hit from #Marketplace . But I’ve muted it, and that’s why I was a bit supprized.

My expecation was that when I mute a category I don’t want to see anything from it. I understand logic why such topic popped up, but I would still like to know if that behaviour is by design, and if yes, why my preferences are overdriven (because an user knows best, even when crippled her/himself 😏)

I think it is intentional. Muting doesn’t say that the topic will not appear in search.

Not even the one for topics says that

You will, for example, also see posts of a muted topic in the activity of a user.
