Security sertificate problem

One of my users that are using mailing list mode got this error:

"I have received the message via email but when I hit Reply in Microsoft Outlook Express, I get something like:
"The name given in the security certificate is either invalid or doesn’t match the name of the server. Continue, yes or no?“
I have to say “Yes” to go on.”

This sounds like a local email issue. I can’t think why Outlook Express would check a certificate for the site being mailed to; Outlook is not going to be directly connecting to that site, it will send mail to the local upstream first. So local upstream is where I’d look for a certificate problem. (And the upstream support contact is who I’d ask about it.)
