Seeking an Idiot's Guide to Setting a Responsive Image In Banner Topic

(James Mc Mahon) #1

I’d like to change our banner topic to an image that’s a bit more engaging. I’ve scoured around, but as of yet I’ve been unable to figure out how exactly to do this. I assume it has to be in CSS (Because merely inserting an image into the banner topic is not responsive)

I’m not sure where to go from there?
Also, I’d love to hear a couple of recommendations on the banner dimensions\pixel ratio.

Currently banner div have 1090px width and 250px height at maximum and 10px for padding.

Thanks Vinoth. How do I make this image behave in a responsive manner?

(I haven’t forgotten about working with you on SSO for my site BTW, I’ve put it on hold while we make some decisions on a redesign of our main site)

I hope putting max-width of img tag to 100% will give you responsive image.

Sorry. May I know which website it is? I don’t have any PM with you @SouperC

@vinothkannans the site was KartPulse.com, we hadn’t gotten to PMs yet. But we were discussing SSO between Discourse and SocialEngine.

Can anyone offer guidance on this? I’m assuming this is not something that’s done in the post itself, but in CSS (Somewhere?)

Yes I remember now :slight_smile: .

Yeah you have to add custom CSS like below

#banner img { max-width: 100%; }
