# Send notification when reply/topic is combined with another topic

I recently wrote [a post](https://meta.discourse.org/t/onebox-does-not-work-in-hide-details/67574/6) and was really confused when I couldn’t find it a few days later. Turns out that’s because it was a duplicate suggestion and was moved to another topic. Similar to when a reply is split into a new topic, can we get a notification when a reply/topic is combined into an existing topic?

This already happens. It may have deleted your notification because I deleted the dangling topic stub.

Ah, that makes sense. Should that case be handled or is it a small enough edge case that it’s not a concern? Maybe if the notification was tied to the new topic instead of the old topic it wouldn’t get deleted.
