# Send welcome message to imported/migrated users

When importing users from an existing forum system, it seems that they aren’t sent the welcome message.
Since [the welcome message is used to educate the users about how to use Discourse](https://meta.discourse.org/t/new-users-welcome-message-when-using-sso/16197/6), I think it would be useful to send it to imported users as well.

I asked this same question a while back, and there was a proposed solution that seemed to work for some people, though I never tried it myself.
