# Sending Private Message: You are not permitted to view the requested resource

Many of my users are getting the following error when trying to send a private message.
“You are not permitted to view the requested resource”
It’s not a permissions issue with respect to trust level as they all are at a level that should have access to the feature. In addition, plenty of our users have no issues sending messages.

Can you provide a screenshot of the error? Do you have any non standard plugins? Did you set up following our official Docker install instructions?

Everything is setup fine. I was told by our host that there’s a fix but it has not been backported to the stable release branch yet. Right now the work-around is to remove the min\_trust\_to\_create\_topic setting. I’d rather wait for the fix to make it to the stable release. 😄
