Server overload digital ocean

(Tor) #1

recently I have had a server overload 1-2 times a week. The server is on digital ocean. This is what happens.

I have no clue on why. Just have to reset the server and its ok again

You cut the blue line graph name. We are looking at what exactly?

My guess is bandwidth - disk - cpu

disk being the one that plateaued.

But that’s only a guess
And knowing the y-axis values could help too.

My completely wild shot-in-the-dark guess as to the cause is
automated backup without adequate swap fails to complete.

If I remember DigitalOcean control panel correctly:
Purple graph - Bandwidth
Blue graph - CPU
Green graph - Disk

What is the deal with memory on the box, is it running out and swapping when CPU pegs?

It happened again last night. Forum down for 5 hours:(
Its no way to access the forum via ssh so i just have to turn the server off and on again.

This is the latest log from the forum:

Your logs say you are running out of memory. Either upsize your droplet or add a swap file.
