# Setting contact url overrides contact email?

Is `contact url` meant to override `contact email` on the `/about` page? The help text in site settings suggests that both would be displayed.

Yes it is meant to override that. Since some people were unhappy that email was shown there, this is an alternative.

Can be legit if you have a “contact web page” as well.

OK. Any thoughts about rendering both if both fields are filled?

(In our case we have both email address and web front ends to our helpdesk tools.)
