# Setting up a paid discourse community questions

I’ll try to summarize below:
**What I want:** people to sign up & pay for a monthly membership on a wordpress site, where they then automatically get access to a private discourse community.
**Concern:** I need it so when they cancel/unsubscribe from the membership on the wordpress site, they automatically lose access to the discourse community - this is where I can’t find clear information on.
**Possible solutions(?):** Is [WP discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) plugin (along with a wordpress membership plugin like memberpress) enough?
Or do I need zapier/webhooks to automate this?
I see that Memberful (SaaS) does this wordpress-discourse paid integration through their own platform, but their monthly/transaction fees seem pretty high.
**Potential confounding issue:** Lastly, if I go with managed discourse hosting (i.e. [discourse.org](http://discourse.org) or communiteq), does this conflict with the way I go about any of the above?
Also, any other tips or advice for going about this?

This can be done using a Wordpress plugin that sells group memberships, in combination with the group sync feature of the [WP discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) plugin.

The [WP Discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) plugin uses the Discourse API so it is compatible with [Discourse.org](http://Discourse.org) hosting (Pro plan and up) and [Communiteq](https://www.communiteq.com/) hosting (all plans).
