# Setting up sub-domain in cPanel

Hi,

I have a dedicated server from Namecheap and am trying to pair the [forum.domain.com](http://forum.domain.com) within cPanel.

How would I do this through DNS editor? I have a Digital Hosting plan hosting the forum itself.

Add an A record.

The subdomain is either `forum` or `forum.example.com.` (including the final dot always if you are using a full host), type = `A`, value = `ip of your digital hosting VM, whatever the docker is running on`.

`forum IN A 192.168.1.200`

You are using cloudflare, so DNS is no longer handled in cpanel. Log in  
to cloudflare with your cloudflare account, DNS under that domain, add A  
record, first box is forum, next box is the ip
