# Should closing a topic remove wiki edit-ability?

There is no such thing as locking a topic. Do you mean close? If so then yes, as the description for close indicates, this is correct. Close only prevents new replies, that is all.

Archive freezes the topic in carbonite, preventing any changes at all, it becomes a stone monument, or tombstone, depending on how you look at it…
