Sign In Error (SSO may be enabled)

(Dubbya) #1

Hi All

Long time reader, first time poster.

I’ve been playing around with my own Discourse install on Digital Ocean.

I can’t seem to sign in anymore. (I have a feeling I’ve enabled SSO - which could be the problem as I enabled it, got distracted and didn’t configure… this is definitely me mucking around).

Was wondering if there is an easy fix? (The amount of times I’ve blown away the app and rebuilt is getting embarassing).

When you click “Sign On” you get a redirect back to the page with no error or sign in window.

You can see for yourself at - the demo site I’m playing around with.

Realise its a total noob question and appreciate the assistance.

From reading the forums - it appears I HAVE enabled SSO.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a command line disable (Digital Ocean / Ubuntu install)?

SSO locked me out of Discourse!

What if you check it by mistake?

If you check enable_sso by mistake and need to revert to the original state and no longer have access to the admin panel

RAILS_ENV=production bin/rails c
irb > SiteSetting.enable_sso = false

from here

To be clear, SSH into the discourse docker container then issue commands

# ssh into server
cd /var/docker
./launcher ssh app

Thanks team, issue solved (after following your directions Jeff).
