# Silent tagging of users/groups

I was just writing a post in my other Discourse group I am an admin of and I realized I would love a way to tag users or groups without actually sending them a notification.
The scenario I was in was I was typing up a Discourse FAQ for my group. But in 3 of the questions I had "Reach out to @ThisGroup and then I got warnings I was about to notify several people. I chose to continue but I didn’t want to actually notify them, I just wanted to tag them so people could follow the deep-link. Would it be possible to say `"You are about to notify X people with @ThisGroup, or you can silently tag them by clicking [this]".`

You can do that by linking to the group page rather than a `@name` mention.
