# Simplify Category Notifications

Hi,

I find that many non-techy users find the Category/Topic notification settings to be confusing.

I would like to propose a simpler naming and description:

- **Normal** Notify and email me whenever I’m @mentioned
- **Headlines** Notify and email me all new Topics
- **Everything** Notify and email me all new Topics and all the Replies
- **Nothing** Don’t show me anything in this Category

I imagine this proposal could be further improved.

For this iteration, I think going to four options makes it simpler and the language is more common wording.
