# Size restrictions on videos?

So I’m thinking about encouraging our staff to make some screen cast videos for our internal documentation. So not regular users and in theory not long videos. I’d like to host them ourselves as uploads.

When I look at the settings at `/admin/config/files` it doesn’t seem like video uploads can be restrained to the same degree as image uploads, e.g. encoding, file size, etc.

Am I correct that all I can do to limit video uploads is

1. restrict by file extension
2. restrict file size with this settings:

NOTE: I realize Discourse is not a video sharing platform, lol. This is just for staff.

Yes this is all accurate, we don’t have more specific controls for videos like we do with images.

It would be very helpful if we did. They are an order of magnitude (at least) different.

But then again, it doesn’t matter all that much if someone dumps a large image file if you are hosting even larger videos, eh?
