# Soft hyphen counted in min post length

An user can bypass the minimum post length by using [soft hyphens](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_hyphen) like `&shy;`. After saving the post the soft hyphens are gone.

Yes this is by design, there are many “technical” ways of bypassing minimum post length. The goal is to discourage casual bypass, not literally blocking every single HTML or Unicode method of posting things that cannot be seen.
