The Discourse Solved (Accepted answer plugin) has introduced a change in the post menu button’s position. For non-OPs, the solved button is now on the far right, whereas for OPs, it remains on the far left. According to sam, this is intended, as it “tucks it away” unless the user is the OP. However, tobiaseigen finds this inconsistent. sam explains that the positioning is deliberate, as admins/mods should not mark solved in usual cases, and the default position helps avoid temptation. Ultimately, tobiaseigen prefers a consistent position, regardless of the location. sam clarifies that the position is indeed consistent, as long as the user is not a moderator.
With Discourse Solved (Accepted answer plugin) installed, is there any particular reason why now the solved button on the post menu is on the far right for posts by others, when it used to be on the far left? On my own posts it is in the far left position as usual. Other buttons appear to be unchanged.
This feels like a new change, perhaps related to @eviltrout’s post rendering engine work and related plugin updates?
I went to look at my post menu ordering and solved isn’t even available as one of the options there. It was always just automatically positioned on the far left from the beginning.
