# Some badges not being granted in secure categories

One of our users has said they’re not getting badges as expected - two noticed are @mention for the first time, and posting a link that is expanded into a Onebox (others have been granted those badges tho). This user has been granted other badges (so don’t think there’s an issue with their account).

IIRC, these are granted as soon as the post is submitted? If so, is this a bug?

Are the mentions made in post in categories accessible to everyone ?

Just checked… and no it was a TL0-only section and another via PM (the forum is also currently in login-required mode).

The oneboxing was also in a TL0 section.

I guess this makes sense as profiles are viewable by the public?
