# Speed on Discourse 2.0

Is it just me? Or is 2.0 blazingly faster?

Nice to hear this!

It is possible that some of this is recent chrome improvements. We always work on performance but nothing sticks out as a super major change in the past 2-3 months. Majority of the recent work was teach Discourse to deal better with large traffic spikes.

The emoji picker is much faster now 👨🏼‍🌾 but besides that I can not think of any major perf changes recently that would impact standard (not super overloaded) use. Though I could be forgetting something.
