Happy to share that we’ve completed this feature so you can now independently control your profile visibility and presence visibility.
Profile visibility is still controlled on Preferences > Interface through the Hide my public profile setting:
You can control your presence visibility (i.e. whether you appear offline or online) through a new profile menu toggle:
