SSO for some but not for everybody?

(Ryan LaLiberty) #1

Is there any way that we can have SSO for the majority of our users but still allow users who aren’t registered on our main site to create accounts just for the Community? My apologies if there’s an obvious answer here.

Nope, SSO is always the single sign on method when you turn it on.

However, you can have multiple login providers using plugins like OAuth2 Basic Support and LinkedIn OAuth2 Plugin.

So you can have, for example oAuth2 for people who come from the main site, and Google/Twitter/Facebook/Email for everyone else.

Thanks. Is there any way at all then that a non-registered member can post in specific subforums without logging in at all? Some sort of guest account? We’re too deep in SSO to go oAuth

No, we don’t have any support for anon posting.

Just a caveat, what @falco said is true, but once you are logged in you can optionally switch to anon mode for your account. This still requires an account and logging in, and enabling the allow anonymous posting site setting, though.
