# Start email previews with the body of post

Email notifications on the iPhone and Outlook look similar to this:

It would improve the function of email notifications to lead the previews with the first 2-3 lines of the post body.

The preview text is pulled from the first few lines of text in an email. On my ipad with the gmail app, for the Discourse email notifications that text is pulled from the avatar/username/date line. It’s possible to set the preview text by including a hidden div that contains the text you want to display. That sounds spammy, but apparently it’s ok.

Yep! These are also known as preheaders, and would be **wonderful** to have in place! 👍
